Moore Addison has produced, since our inception in 1953, high tolerance parts machined from laminate and plastic sheet, rod and tube. Our experience and expertise in this field allows us to provide a good value for parts that do not require expensive, multi axis, highly computerized sophistication. We maintain a diverse array of modern equipment needed to do production machining to three decimal places and can accommodate virtually every type of material that makes a cool chip when cut. Customers in a broad scope of industries have relied on us for highly accurate parts, competitive prices, and date-certain lead times. All this is done to the latest ISO standards and practices.

We maintain a full complement of modern equipment, including CNC lathes and mills. This equipment allows us to accomplish many precision machining processes on non-metals, including broaching, buffing, deburring, drilling, forming, grinding, milling, punching, reaming, and routing. We even do screw machining. We also offer shearing, tapping, turning, insert installation, and light assembly fabrication services. Our equipment accommodates a broad array of dimensions. A small part you can easily hold in your hand may start from a full 48” x 96” sheet. We can accurately turn parts up to 32” in diameter down to parts that are just a little too big for a Swiss screw machine. Our router tables can handle diameters up to 5 feet at a tolerance under 1/64th of an inch. We regularly machine plastics that range from the very thin, measuring at 0.015”, up to 3” in thickness or more in available materials. We commonly hold and regularly achieve tolerances of ±0.003”.

With over 60 years in business, we are experienced in working with nearly every type of non-metal material that produces a cool chip when cut. These include all phenolic laminates such as Grade C Canvas, Grade L Linen, Grade XXX Paper, and G-10 / FR 4 Glass Epoxy, among others. Moore Addison also works with glass polyester in all grades (including red GPO-3 and high temp Glastherm) and all manufacturers (including Glastic and Extren). Other materials we regularly machine include all grades and colors of acrylic and polycarbonate, as well as corrosion resistant composites, heat resistant refractory materials and other high performance materials. And let us not forget the white plastics: all the different grades and manufactures of nylon, acetal, and UHMW to name a few and PTFE as well. They all produce a cool chip when they are cut, ground, sawed, drilled, or any combination of any material removable processes. And being a precision machine shop, Moore Addison machines any part we make to high tolerance.

We have made parts for virtually every type of application that benefits from using plastic components. We have made many parts for applications where plastic components function better than the original metal elements. These include bushings, bearings, conveyor parts, gear blanks, and all types of industrial parts and components. A wide choice of production volumes is available, normally ranging from 50 to 5000 parts, with typical lead times averaging two to three weeks and rush services available when required. All of our work is fully compliant with ISO 9001:2008.
